Gus Norwood's Letter to the Editor Published in the Columbian and the Reflector

As owners of the largest and most vital industry in the county, Clark Public Utilities, we citizen voters are responsible for electing competent and dedicated utility commissioners. Carol Curtis, the incumbent commissioner whose term is expiring, has blundered into costly mistakes and rate increases. Fortunately we have a highly qualified candidate in Jim Malinowski to replace the incumbent.

Malinowski was born in Aberdeen, raised in Amboy and Battle Ground, has an extensive education in electrical engineering, plus 30 years of utility experience. He presently teaches electrical utility service at Clark College. He believes in public power. Malinowski knows the public utility law and will carry its mandate to place the interest of all the consumer owners first.

Please support and vote for Jim Malinowski for utility commissioner in September. If you think this is too early to think about it, why wait until the special interest operators already put the big money into the incumbent's campaign fund? They want to keep control for their own purposes.

It's time for a change.
